Since the inception of the CARTEN 100 sponsored cycle ride from Cardiff to Tenby, a staggering £27,511 has been raised for charity. Thanks to all those who have taken part and to the support staff without whom the event would not be possible.

The CARTEN 100 annual fund raising cycle from Cardiff to Tenby got off to a great start in 2009 and included some teenage entrants. One cyclist has a mishap in the very early stages which resulted in a dislocated finger. Having attended casualty the game rider came back and completed the second half of the ride!! There's dedication for you.

From four riders in 2004 to over eighty in 2009, the challenge of riding the 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby has just kept growing, with more and more friends, colleagues and acquaintances "having a go!"

Our philosophy is to get people back onto their bikes by cycling 100 miles, as well as enjoying a good day out followed by a celebratory drink or two in Tenby. It is a challenge, never a race, indeed we try to arrive in Tenby en masse. See some photograpghs of CARTEN 2009.

2010 Cycle Ride

This year, the ride will take place on Saturday 8th May. There will be a change to the start this year due to the numbers taking part and we will be starting from Sophia Gardens off Cathedral Road (CF11 9SW), where the Sports Council for Wales have kindly agreed to provide their facilities for our use in the morning. Ty Hafan has again been chosen as this year's benefitting charity.
